Iwase was appointed to director of the Applied Biosystems Japan’s Bio- Discovery division, after the merger of Nihon PerSeptive Limited with Applied Biosystems Japan Inc., in 1998. He was founder and president of Nihon PerSeptive Limited established in 1994. He had business careers at Nihon Millipore (Nihon Wasters) and Merck Japan, Inc. He graduated from Science and Engineering department of Nihon University. He has been working at the front lines of biotechnology market and science related industry both in Japan and the US for more than 35 years, investigating to catch up the current status of biotechnology worldwide. Additionally he has a great experience in the support of business entry of U.S. biotechnology ventures into the Japanese market. At present, He holds the additional post of Representative Director at Genome Bay Tokyo Council(NPO).
